Fri/Sat. May 18-19 : Hartford New Music Festival @ Charter Oak Cultural Center (Hartford, CT)

A two-day marathon concert of contemporary and experimental music, curated by Bill Solomon and me. I will also be curating a series of sound/video works and new media performances, which will run in the Oak's basement galleries simultaneously with the main events in the upstairs hall. Electroacoustic music series, curated by Todd Merrell and Mark Liebergall.

Thurs. September 29 : Crossfire Percussion Duo at the Backroom @ Hardware (Buffalo, NY)

The Crossfire Percussion Duo (Robert Fullex & Jason Bauers) perform Small Stones.
8 pm, located on 245 Allen Street in Buffalo.


Fri. July 15 : Oxbow Lake @ Charter Oak Cultural Center (Hartford, CT)

Performing with Oxbow Lake. The bill that includes Paul Flaherty, Bill Nace, and the Mountain Movers.

June 6-12 : June in Buffalo Festival (Buffalo, NY)

Participant composer at the June in Buffalo Festival. Small Stones, for two percussionists, will be performed by the Buffalo-based Crossfire Percussion Duo on Tuesday at 4 pm in Baird Recital Hall.

Performance with Bill Solomon (percussion) and Kelli Kathman (flute).
Music will include Small Stones, a river is many things going to almost the same place at almost the same time, and partch chimes + tuned river.
Scott Petersen is also on the bill. 8 pm.

Sun. May 22 : Aperiodic performs Tide @ Elastic Arts Foundation (Chicago, IL)

Aperiodic performs tide for nine sliding instruments.
Works by Jürg Frey, Chiyoko Slavnics, Kunsu Shim, Cristyn Magnus, and Joe Kudirka are also on the program.

Sun. May 8 : Ghost Music @ the Wulf (Los Angeles, CA)

Jennifer Torrence performs Ghost Music, my concert-length work for solo percussion.

Sat. April 23 : Ghost Music @ Neighborhood Music School (New Haven, CT)

Bill Solomon performs, Ghost Music, my extended piece for solo percussion. The music will be accompanied by a wall drawing by John M. Adams (see this video from the last music/visual performance of the work at the Arlington Arts Center). Tension Studies #1 and #2 by Samuel Adams is also on the program. 8 pm, $10.

Thurs. April 21 : Hartford Sound Alliance @ Capital Community College (Hartford, CT)

Hartford Sound Alliance presents an evening of electroacoustic solos and duets, including performances by Matt Sargent, Lief Ellis/Chris Ladd, Todd Merrell, and Bill Solomon. Curated by Matt Sargent. Free admission. The concert will be held in Centinel Hall, on the 11th floor of the Capital building.

April 1-4 : Composer residency @ University of Nevada Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)

Composer-in-residence with the Music Department at UNLV.  Performances of crossing/rising, tides, partch chimes + tuned river, small stones, and John Cage's five with the UNLV Nextet ensemble. Curated by Nolan Stolz.
